ZPD Investigates Theft Of Funds At American Legion Auxiliary UPDATE

The Zanesville Police Department today confirmed it is investigating the theft of funds from the State of Ohio’s American Legion Auxiliary.

Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says the organization has offices at 1100 Brandywine Boulevard in Zanesville.

"We are not releasing a lot of details about this because we have not filed charges on this case. I am expecting to meet with the Muskingum County prosecutor probably next week in regards to this case and possibly getting charges at this time," said Roush. 

Detective Sergeant Roush did confirm some details of the embezzlement.

"It does involve a theft of a substantial amount of money from the office by a former employee of the organization," said Roush. 

Whiz News tried to contact the organizations Secretary/Treasurer, Katie Wainwright, but we were unable to contact her for comment.
