ZPD Welcomes New Officer
The Zanesville Police Department has added another member to their team.
A swearing-in ceremony for ZPD Officer Jarred Miracle took place this morning in Mayor Butch Zwelling’s office. However, Officer Miracle is no stranger to law enforcement. His stepfather is former Muskingum County Sheriff Bernie Gibson.
"It’s exciting. It’s been a long road. I am just excited to be able to protect and serve the great community that I love and I call home…Zanesville," said Miracle.
Chief Eric Lambes says the department was currently down six officers so hiring a new officer is always a big benefit.
"He comes from a long history of law enforcement and he has a good solid base, so we expect to get him out on the road very quickly…a lot faster than the average recruit that we hire, so that’s a big benefit," said Chief Lambes.
Officer Miracle has previously worked for the Sheriff’s Office and Muskingum County Judge Jeff Hooper.
