Two Pinned in U.S. 40 Accident
Two people were pinned in a vehicle following an accident Thursday evening on U.S. 40 in Zanesville.
According to Trooper Jeff Fowler with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, around 5 p.m. Roy Patterson of Marne was driving a red Pontiac when he attempted to turn onto National Road. Patterson turned in front of a green Saturn driven by Jean Maxwell of Zanesville and was struck.
The collision sent Maxwell’s car off the roadway, hitting a sign and utility pole.
"Two occupants in the Saturn were pinned in the car. They had to be extracted by EMS. No injuries are life-threatening," says Trooper Fowler.
Fowler says Patterson received a citation for failure to yield.
