Bids Placed for Putnam Ave. Building Renovation
Improvements are soon coming to a Putnam Avenue building.
Bid openings were placed at the Muskingum County Commissioners for renovations to the Help Me grow Facility.
"The health department has been awarded the grant for the WIC program, women, infants, and children. So they need space so they are moving into that facility and this is to do some renovations to that building down there so they can move in," said Jerry Lavy, Muskingum County Commissioner.
The WIC program currently is housed at the Muskingum Valley Health Center on Adair and is scheduled to be torn down in August. Meanwhile, the improvements to the Help Me Grow building will be done before the demolition just in time for the program to move.
"Bids were branched into general construction contracts, there was plumbing, HVAC, as well as electrical," said Lavy.
The commissioners are expected to make a decision on the contractors soon so renovations can begin.
