Tip Leads To Drug Arrest

A Zanesville man is behind bars Saturday after authorities discover a small drug operation inside the man’s home.

According to Detective Tim Matheney of Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies and South Zanesville Police arrived at 717 Baker Street after receiving a tip that the man living there, Timothy Mefford, had a warrant out for his arrest. Authorities were able to hear Mefford inside the home but refused to answered the door. 

Detectives reported seeing a marijuana plant in the back of the property and a small growing operation inside the home. A search warrant was filed and authorities entered the home and arrested Mefford.

Detectives say the warrant was in relation to child support.

Charges are currently pending.
