Daughter Charged With Shooting Her Father

A Philo woman is charged Wednesday in the shooting death of her father.

 Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says that Jennifer Lynn McHenry is charged with one count of aggravated murder with a gun specification in the death of 56-year-old Donald McHenry.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office was called to 660 Irish Ridge Road around 10:30 Wednesday June 15th where they found Mr. McHenry lying in the front yard of the home.

In a 9-1-1 phone call released by the Sheriff’s Office a 19-year-old woman who identifies the victim as her father said “he tried to kill me and I don’t think he is breathing”.

Prosecutor Haddox says the charges state that Jennifer McHenry caused the death of her father by shooting him with a .22 caliber revolver.

If convicted she faces life in prison or the death penalty.

She is being held in the Muskingum County Jail on $ 1.5 million cash bond.

Haddox says Ms. McHenry will appear in Muskingum County Court Thursday and her case will be presented before a grand jury next Wednesday.
