Man Swerves Around Deer, Causes Crash on I-70
An accident on Interstate 70 leaves one person trapped with serious injuries.
The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says the one vehicle crash happened on I-70 eastbound near the Sonora Road exit around 9:45 Wednesday evening. 56-year-old Joseph Tolbert of Cambridge was pinned in the vehicle and had to be cut out by first responders.
According to Trooper Troy Hale Tolbert was driving his Chrysler Sebring east on I-70 when he swerved to miss a deer, struck a guardrail and almost ripped off the roof of his car. Trooper Hale says Tolbert was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with a broken neck and then transferred to a Columbus Hospital. His condition was not availble.
