Commissioners React to Hill’s Appointment

Muskingum County Commissioners react to Hill’s appointment of the 94th District State Representative.

Commissioner Jim Porter says it was probably a tough decision for Hill to leave , but it will be a benefit to the 94th District.

"We’re hoping for economic development, jobs; he’ll be up there where he will have the inside of promoting our county I hope, so i think it’s a good thing," said Porter.

Commissioner Jerry Lavy says even though Hill’s seat is now officially vacant, it will not affect legislation for the county.

"That’s what it takes to vote on anything is two signatures or two votes. A problem could come along if you disagree on one and one agrees and that could be a problem but I don’t see that happening," said Lavy.

Both Lavy and Porter say they hope they have some input on the person who will be appointed.
