Golf Tournament in Memory of a Friend
Golfers hit the green on Sunday to honor a long-time friend.
The 19th Annual Duane Kessler Scramble Golf Tournament took place at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Hopewell. Chairman Kenneth Dunn said the tournament supports Kessler’s other favorite pastime.
"Duane was a member who did a lot for the organization," said Dunn. "He lived and breathed baseball, so we thought we should honor him for doing that for us."
Dunn said proceeds will benefit Babe Ruth Baseball and Junior and Senior Pioneers Baseball. He said it’s a great way to enjoy the weather and socialize with friends.
"I love to play golf, but it goes for a good cause," said Dunn. "For us older guys, it’s kind of like a donation. We like playing with the younger guys and just having a good time."
Dunn said his goal is to raise $4000 for the baseball organizations.
