Murder Suspect Charged – Still On Loose

Zanesville Police say they have charged a suspect in this weekend’s fatal shooting…and now the search is on to find him. Chief Eric Lambes says 21-year-old Joseph Hampton is now facing an aggravated murder charge with a gun specification. He also goes by the name of Joey Hampton. He is described as a black male about six-feet tall – 185 pounds with long hair and several tattoos. He is charged with shooting 21-year-old Dante Wolford in the parking lot of Dairy Mart at 714 Pine Street Saturday night. Wolford was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Anyone with information on this case or knows the whereabouts of Hampton are asked to call the Zanesville Police Department.
