Event for Kids to Play and Learn
This weekend kids can put down the video game controllers and exercise outside.
The Zanesville chapter of Ducks Unlimited is holding its 34th annual Greenwing event. Committee member Ben Whitacre said children can learn about archery and hunting safety.
"It’s a great event because we hold it outside, and the kids get an opportunity to see different activities and demonstrations," said Whitacre. "They get to handle guns properly and receive instructions."
Whitacre said he enjoyed participating in the program as a child, and he hopes other kids will have just as much fun.
"About 10 to 15 years ago, when I was a teenager, I got to attend it every year, and I looked forward to it," said Whitacre. "The committee that puts it on does a great job."
The event will take place on Saturday at the Dillon Sportsman Center on Pleasant Valley Road. Registration begins at 10:30 AM and the cost is $20 per child.
