Ward Homer Wooley (September 29, 2013)

Ward Homer Wooley, 71, of Zanesville, died at 1:38 a.m. Thur. Sept. 26, 2013 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born on Dec. 15, 1941 in Zanesville a son of the late Stanford and Fae Henery Wooley.
He graduated fro Zanesville High School in 1959 and from Ohio Northern University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He worked at the Tanoury Pharmacy on Greenwood Ave. from 1963-1969, then at Long’s Pharmacy in Somerset from 1970-1982. In 1983 he bought the business and it continued as the Somerset Pharmacy where he operated it until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Gamma Delta Chapter. He served on the Board of Directors at the Commodore Bank in Somerset from 1990-2003. He was a member of the Somerset Lodge #0076 F&AM and the Zanesville Aerie #302 Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Dixie Lasure Wooley of the home. Two children Dianna (David Fowlkes) Wooley Johnson and Darren Joseph (Briann) Wooley. Grandchildren Kolten Gaskill, Jaden Johnson, Caleb Wooley, Hannah Guess, Connor Wooley, Skylar Fowlkes, Luke Fowlkes, Jake Fowlkes and Mason Wooley.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a baby brother William Stanford Wooley.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sat. Sept. 28, 2013 and Sun. Sept. 29, 2013 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Somerset Lodge will conduct masonic services at 6;00 p.m. Sun. Sept. 29 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon. Sept. 30, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Joy French officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the South Zanesville United Methodist Church Food Bank 53 East Main St. South Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
