Charles S. Spires (September 8, 1941 – November 5, 2013)

ZANESVILLE
Charles S. Spires, 72, of Zanesville, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 8, 1941 in Zanesville a son of the late Roy and Evaline Florence Riley Spires.
Chuck was a 1962 graduate of Roseville High School. He had taught music for 51 years, and of that time was the owner/operator of Spires Music in Zanesville since 1967. He was the past president of International Music Association, and won the American Guild of Music Championship for 3 years in a row. Chuck was a part of the inaugural class of inductees into the Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Lois Head Spires; two sons David Spires of Nashville, TN and Steven Spires of Zanesville; one daughter, Kristen Spires of Columbus; three sisters, Karen Wiseman and Betty (Jack) Norton both of Zanesville, and Leona (Melvin) Ford of Roseville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, Bill and Robert Spires; two sisters Florence Thorp and Barbara Caton; and one nephew Leroy Spires.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, November 8, 2013, in the Snouffer Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
