Robert Marshall Lyons (August 13, 1934 – June 28, 2014)

Robert Marshall Lyons 79 formerly of Cumberland passed away on Saturday June 28, 2014 in Brecksville, Ohio.
Robert was born in High Hill, Ohio on August 13, 1934 to the late Robert and Edna Marshall Lyons. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and retired from Meadowbrook High School as the Vocational Agriculture Instructor. He was a longtime member of Cumberland United Methodist Church, and attended Coburn United Methodist Church, and Cuyahoga Valley Church. He was a member of Ohio Young Farmers, Meadowbrook FFA Alumni, Independence Civic Center, held an honorary State FFA Degree, and was enshrined in the Rolling Hills Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.
He is survived by three sons: Mike (Tina) Lyons of Ironton, Ohio, Paul (Diane) Lyons of South Charleston, Ohio, and Mark (Lisa) Lyons of Independence, Ohio. Four Grandchildren: George (Chasity) Suttles of Ironton, Ohio, Molly Suttles of Ironton, Ohio, Miranda Lyons of Independence, Ohio, and Andrew Lyons of South Charleston, Ohio. Two great-grandchildren Alyssa and Kyler Suttles both of Grayson. Three sister-in-laws: Ruth Janson of Tuscon, Arizona, Betty (Jim) Peters , and Emma Woodie of Coshocton. Two brothers-in-law: Herby (Joyce) Walters of Tuscon, Arizona and Herb Miller of Thornville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Judy Walters Lyons, three sisters Annabelle Howell, Frances Bailey, and Maxine McKee, and several brother and sister-in-laws.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland United Methodist Church or Meadowbrook FFA.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday July 1, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday at Coburn United Methodist Church 3618 Maple Avenue Zanesville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Dennis Baker and Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.
