Robert D. Samson (August 27, 1943 – November 18, 2014)

Robert D. Samson, 71, of Zanesville, died at 9:29 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at his home. He was born August 27, 1943, in Zanesville, a son of the late Oscar W. and Rosie Buck Samson. He retired after 36 years of service from Owens Brockway Glass, was a member of the Central Ohio Off Road Association, and he enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Joyce Goldsmith Samson, whom he married August 17, 1963; his children, Tina (Fred Harter), Tiera (Jim), Tammy (Tom), and Craig (Kelly); fifteen grandchildren, Cory, Heather (Mike), Mike (Donna), Bryon, Adam (Kayla), Kate (Aaron), Coltin, Jordan, Ashlee (Ryan), Josh (Tiffany), Austin, Skylar (Brenna), Kylee, Dylan, Kate; fourteen great grandchildren, Mike, Koda, Emma, Maci, Brayden, Coleman, Ethan, Raigann, Lauren, Addison, Quinton, Kylee, Alexis, and Quinton; a brother Ray (Betty); and his sisters Waveline (Carl), Kathryn, and Roxanne (Paul).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Oscar Jr.; five sisters, Leona, Elizabeth, Irma Jean, Dixie, and Maxine.

Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A dignified cremation will take place following visitation.
