Billie Duane Mercer (March 10, 1932 – February 18, 2015)

Billie Duane Mercer, 82, of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Cedar Hill Nursing Center. He was born March 10, 1932 in Muskingum County to the late Lewis and Ethel Morris Mercer. Billie was employed at Armco Steel as a Pipefitter for 42 years. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Joan Cornell Mercer, he is survived by his son William Mercer of Delaware, Ohio, his daughter Nancy (Ted) Garber of Zanesville, three grandchildren: Andrea Coulter, Heather Garber (Will) Lewis and Tanner Garber and one great-grandson Mason Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Walda Morris, Don Mercer, Verol Mercer and Bobby Mercer.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm., Sunday, February 22 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD. Funeral services with full military honors by George Selsam VFW Post #1058 will be held Monday in the Snouffer Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
