Victim Identified In SR 16 Fatal Accident

The Highway Patrol Friday released the name of the man killed in a two vehicle accident on State Route 16 in Hanover Thursday evening. Troopers say 55-year-old Patric Grove of Newark was riding in a self-assembled three wheeled motorcycle when he collided with a truck. Grove – who was not wearing a helmet – was ejected off the motorcycle and died at the scene. The driver of the truck, 36-year-old Betsy Porterfield of Pataskala went off the right side of the road, down an embankment, striking a tree and overturning. Porterfield and two child passengers were not seriously hurt. The driver of a third vehicle that struck part of the motorcycle was not hurt. The Highway Patrol says the accident –which happened around 8:30 last night — remains under investigation.
