ZHS Baseball Coach Suspended
A Zanesville High School baseball coach has been suspended for bringing alcohol onto school property. Superintendent Terry Martin says that David Balo was given a 10 day suspension. Martin says Balo has also agreed to voluntarily step down as head baseball coach for the remainder of the 2011-2012 season, complete a fitness for duty exam with a licensed substance abuse professional and he understands that any similar misconduct will result in immediate termination of both his teaching contract and any supplemental contracts with the school board. Martin says Balo admitted Friday to having beer on school grounds. Balo has never been previously reprimanded by the school district.
