Joe Spears (April 26, 1954 – August 19, 2015)
Joe Spears, 61, of Roseville was carried away by angels into the arms of Jesus from the arms of his loving wife, with his children at his side after a 2 year battle with lung cancer. He was born April 26, 1954 to the late Leroy and Nora (Ratliff) Spears. Joe was an over the road truck driver with Mid State Systems in Hebron and was a hard working provider for his family. He loved mowing his lawn and working in his garden. He was a member of the Zanesville Anchor Church. He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Joyce (Goldsmith) Spears who he married September 15, 1982; son, Joe Matthew Spears and fiance, Karen Starner of New Lexington, Oh; daughter, Samantha (Tony) Factor of Buckeye Lake, OH; son, Austin Spears of the home; granddaughters, August Spears and Zoey Spears and his grand ‘buddies’ Talen ‘Tal-Tal’; and Hayden Factor; brother, Tom (Dixie) Spears; sisters, Jean Ann and Susie Spears; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; truck driving buddies, Jerry Price, Scott Boyd, Don Stalling and his dear friend who he loved as a brother, Jerry Murphy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Spears; sister, Carolyn Spears, mother-in-law, Phyllis Stull and father-in-law, Earl ‘Butch’ Goldsmith. Viewing will be Monday, August 24, 2015 beginning at 11 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at the Anchor Church, 1365 Chamberlain St., with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating.
