Z-ville Woman Pleads Not Guilty In Murder Case

A Zanesville woman charged in connection with a recent fatal shooting incident appears in court Wednesday. 22-year-old Jasmine Lakich pleads not guilty in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to obstructing justice, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Zanesville Police say Lakich was in the company of 21-year-old Joey Hampton who is charged in the shooting death of 21-year-old Donte Wolford at the Dairy Mart on Pine Street in early September. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says five days after the shooting Lakich was with Hampton in Boone County, Indiana. Roush says after she returned to Zanesville officers arrested her and searched her car. Officers say they found a concealed knife and a set of digital scales and she is accused of giving a false statement as to her whereabouts with Hampton. Judge Mark Fleegle continued Lakich’s bond at $100,000. Hampton remains at large.
