Farm History Gears-up
Children had the opportunity to see and experience first-hand the equipment once used to harvest Ohio farms.
It’s called "Education of Yesterday." Coordinator Kenny Moore first created the event after learning many young kids thought milk, eggs and other produce originally came from the store. Today he displays and restores the farm equipment he saw growing up and invites the community to take part.
"The ground is here, God made the ground and left it," said Moore. "The farmers have always tilled the soil, made the food for human population, as well as our cattle, which makes our meat, milk and all things we have."
Moore hopes to someday see his passion for farm history continue. His daughter, Kendra Hindel grew up in a family of 6 children. She said the lessons from her father have been instilled in her and are now being passed onto his grandchildren.
"I hope we can keep it going and make a memory of him and what he believed," said Hindel.
"Education of Yesterday" will be open again Sunday. They are located at the Country Crossroads of State Route 16 and 60. Admission is free, they do ask for a parking donation to help pay for fuel to show the equipment.
