Homes Sold in Sheriff’s Sale
A Muskingum County Sheriff’s Sale held Thursday included 4 homes that were seized in connection with a recent drug-bust.
The homes stemmed from a case involving Sheron Davis back in December of 2009. The homes brought in a total of $26,000.
"It’s not quite as much as we thought they’d bring," said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz. "The county has the right to refuse all bids."
The Sheriff said they will discuss the option to turn down the bids. Proceeds will be divided between the Sheriff and County Prosecutor offices to be used toward equipment and training.
"We have some equipment for our drug unit we’ll be looking to buy, different covert type equipment," explained Lutz. "It can be used for vehicles if we need to go that route but mainly covert-type equipment."
The homes are located on Hedgewood Avenue, Stewart, Chapman and Vine Streets. If the bid is refused the homes will go up for auction at a later date.
