Ellen L. Wheeler, 84 of National Road, Zanesville, passed away January 22, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Ellen was born September 14, 1927 in Zanesville the daughter of the late Andrew and Goldie Mae (Passwaters) Harvey.
She previously attended Mid East Ohio Vocational School, she worked for Downtown Lounge, Essix Wire, she was a barmaid, she did in home care for the elderly and she volunteered for the senior center and country western. She enjoyed bingo, country western music, spending time at the senior center and she was an avid card player; she was a member of the American Legion post #29 and Home chapter DC-WMA. She attended the Free Methodist Church on Brighton Blvd.
Ellen is survived by her three sons Paul Paxton, Dave Nabb and Jeff Nabb; her daughters Mary May, Linda King, Beverly Porter, Bonnie Shawger, Shirley Burtnett and Virginia Lewis; step-daughters Anna and Debbie Wheeler; her brother Russell Harvey and Sisters Patricia Harvey and Sandy Young; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Ellen is preceded in death by her husband Alfred K. Wheeler; her three sons James Paxton, Richard Nabb and George Paxton; her brothers Charles, Raymond, Pearl and Jerry Harvey; her sisters Ruth Taylor, Clara Evans, June Argo, Lucille Reed and Shirley Jackson.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday Jan. 24, 2012 with funeral services 11 am Wednesday at the Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospital and nursing staff, her social workers, ER care, Kidney Care Staff, Dr. Austen, passport, Z-Bus and a special thanks to Pam Seesholtz and Lori May.
There will be a luncheon following the burial at the Duncan Falls Masonic Lodge.
