William Miller (July 9, 1941 – March 10, 2012)

ZANESVILLE

William Bernard Miller, 70, of Zanesville, died at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 10, 2012. He was born on July 9, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late James and Ada Miller of Zanesville. Bernard retired from the New Bakery Co. in 2008 after 28 years of service. He also worked 12 additional years in the trucking service for other employers, for a total of 40 years. He was awarded the New Bakery Driver of the Year Award in 1982 and the Ryder Truck Driver of the Year Award in 1996. Bernard was awarded the 2006 State of Ohio Driver of the Year from the Ohio Trucking Association at their 2006 Annual Safety Awards Banquet, after driving 4.4 million miles error free.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Judy Hutchison Miller, celebrating their 51st anniversary in 2011. He is also survived by three sons: Keith (Karen) of Glenford, Kent (Brenda) of Zanesville, and Kurt (Susan) of Edenton, N.C. and seven grandchildren: Katrina and Kenny; Nikole, Megan and Anthony; and Hayden and Logan. Bernard is also survived by four brothers: Paul (Palma) of Zanesville, Gary (Mary) of Dresden, Larry of Zanesville, and Tom (Celia) Miller of Zanesville and one sister, Mary (Terry) Senter of Nashport. He is survived by father-in-law, Everett Hutchison of Trinway, brother-in-law Jim Hutchison of Idaho, sisters-in-law Emily (Don) Gephart of Coshocton and Kathy (Keith) Radcliffe of Nashport, great aunt Rosemary Hamilton of Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Carl Schaefer (ret.) on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be available 1 hour prior to the service.
