Joseph “Joe” E. Natalie (February 8, 1948 – April 23, 2012)
Joseph E. Natalie, 64 of Zanesville died 4:47 PM Monday, April 23, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan ER Zanesville following complications from a 2-month illness with a brain tumor.
He was born Sunday, February 08, 1948 in Louisville KY the son of James P. and Jane M. (Shippen) Natalie.
Joe was a 1965 graduate of Trinity High School, a 1969 graduate of Bellamine College where he received his B.A., a 1976 graduate of the University of Louisville with a masters degree in family counseling. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where he was a lector, a member of the parish council and also served on the festival committee. Joe was a supporter of Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans High School and Trinity High School, Louisville Ky, and a life long avid fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals. Joe was a licensed professional counselor for the Muskingum County Juvenile Court. He was a past and current member of United Way, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Muskingum County Community Foundation Council & the Genesis Advisory Board.
Mr. Natalie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Laura (Black) Natalie, whom he married June 28, 1980, a daughter Paige N. Natalie; his seven younger siblings, Mary Loraine (Mike) Isaac of Louisville KY, Rose Ann (Alan) Lovesee of Rockville MD, Vincent P. Natalie of Louisville, KY; Elizabeth (Kevin) Gibbs of Temperance MI; Robert (Karen) Natalie of Jacksonville FL, Howard (Melanie) Natalie of Louisville KY and Jane (John) Bennett of Louisville KY; a brother-in-law Thom (Tami) Black of Zanesville. Nieces and nephews Kadie Black; Theresa, Natalie, Mike and Lori Isaac; Nick Lovesee, Catherine Gibbs, Andrew & Tyler Natalie; Jack, Madeleine, Mary Claire, Dominic Joseph, and Max Natalie; William, Mathew and Lillian Bennett.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two infant nephews: Jonathan and Nathanial Gibbs.
Friends may call Sunday April 29th from 2-4 & 6-8pm with Christian Vigil service at 7:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, April 30th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North 5th St. with Fr. Jordan Turano as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Zanesville Memorial Park Zanesville.
