Marathon Run a Success for Christ’s Table
In an effort to feed the hungry, one local woman laced-up her shoes and ran in her first ever half-marathon.
We first brought you the story in September. Shannon Riley was in training for the October Columbus Marathon. Money raised from her endeavor would benefit Zanesville’s Christ’s Table.
"Knowing I was able to cross that finish line and knowing that money raised was able to go and help a great cause really helped push me to the end," said Riley. "It was a great experience on a personal level and that level as well."
Overall Riley raised more than $1,000. Executive Director at Christ’s Table Keely Warden said just $1 will provide 5 meals.
"With the holidays coming up, with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, these types of donations that are unexpected are always helpful because it just helps us make those days a little bit more special for the guests we serve," said Warden.
Donations are always accepted and appreciated. If you would like to help contact Christ’s Table.
