“Trunk-or-Treat” for a Safe Halloween
A fear of Trick-or-Treating along busy road ways and visiting stranger’s homes have moved one local church to sponsor "Trunk-or-Treat."
A time when cars lined the parking lot of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Zanesville and hand out candy form their trunks.
"I like for them to be safe and any longer going house-to-house isn’t always safe," said Church Member Carol Willey. "Here we know their safe and having a good time and that’s the most important thing."
Pastor Linda Morrow fears kids growing up in this day and age don’t always have the right guidance.
"Really what we’re trying to say is there is a lot of different ways to be treated," said Morrow. "God is the real treat and so we wanted to share that message also with them today."
Last year more than 150 kids took part. This year they planned to double that amount.
