New Concord Man Files for 2012 97th Dist. State Rep. Seat
With Election Day not even here yet, one candidate has already filed for a State Representative seat for next year’s election.
New Concord resident Frank Fleischer filed his petition for the 97th District Seat Tuesday afternoon at the Muskingum County Board of Elections. The Democrat feels he has what it takes to represent Guernsey and most of Muskingum County.
"For over 30 years, I was a state administrator in the department of mental health, I have experience in both budget, finance, and public finance. I’ve been involved in collaborations with local townships, counties, courts, in making sure that we have effective government," said Fleischer.
Fleischer is a strong believer in local input and wanted to get an early start to his campaign efforts.
"The filing deadline is December 7th because it’s going to be a March 6th primary and again I’d like to have the opportunity to go out and meet the people in the area, find out the concerns. I’ve already been going out to meet with various groups and people and I plan on doing heavy canvasing in my campaign," said Fleischer.
Fleischer feels he can also help spawn job creation in the District, especially with the Marcellus and Utica Shale developments going on in southeast Ohio. Fleischer would be running against Incumbent Republican Brian Hill for the seat in next year’s election.
