Hampton In Zanesville Jail On Aggravated Murder Charge
A Zanesville murder suspect who was arrested in Florida last week is now in a local jail. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says 21-year-old Joey Hampton was brought back to Zanesville by detectives yesterday and is being held in the city jail. Hampton is charged with one count of aggravated murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Dante Wolford at the Dairy Mart on Pine Street in September. Roush plans to meet with Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox to determine if the Hampton will face a preliminary hearing or if his case will be presented to a grand jury.
