Escaped Prisoner Back in Custody
A Muskingum County Prisoner escaped from authorities.
Sheriff Matt Lutz said it happened shortly after 10:30 Friday morning infront of the jail. The Sheriff would not release the inmates name but says he was being held for a misdemeanor involving a theft. The inmate was being supervised as he unloaded supplies from a food contract service when he took off running.
Lutz said reports from the community helped track down the inmate-who was taken back into custody shortly after noon. He was found near the Zanesville Comfort Inn parking lot.
Lutz said the prisoner could now face felony charges.
