Robert L. Rice Sr (February 18, 1931 – January 29, 2014)

Robert L. Rice Sr., 82, of Zanesville, died at 11:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at his home. He was born February 18, 1931, in Zanesville, a son of the late Frank P. and Mabel Poole Rice. He had worked as a Security Guard for Armco Steel for 41 years.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Barbara A. Ritchey Rice, whom he married July 7, 1951; a daughter Catharine M. Stutes of Zanesville; a son Gregory A. Rice of Zanesville; two grandsons Matthew and Keith Rice of Zanesville; a niece Pamela (Mike) Falls of Steubenville; and a great niece and nephew, Lucy and Brian Falls of Steubenville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Erma Ritchey.

Private funeral services will be held at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Mr. Chris Steele officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
