Ernest E. Balsley (June 7, 1937 – February 10, 2014)
Ernest E. Balsley, 76, of Zanesville, died at 11:45 A.M. on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 7, 1937, in Muskingum County, a son of the late Herbert J. and Alberta Smith Balsley. He had worked as a miner for Peabody Coal Co., at Essex Wire, and also for Ford Motor Company, and after his retirement he was self-employed as a Mobile Home Transporter. Ernest was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles- Aerie Lodge 302, and of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter Rebecca Balsley of Zanesville; four sons, Rusty (Susan) Balsley of Heath, Rick Balsley of Heath, Randy (Kim) Balsley of Zanesville, and Todd Balsley of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Kendra, Matthew, Kayla, Lauren, Jordan, and Maddison; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Balsley; and two half-brothers, Henry Johnson and Gerald Johnson.
Friends and family may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 14, 2014, with Pastor John Alice officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Brownsville.
