Zanesville Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges

A Zanesville man pleads guilty to multiple drug charges.

27-year-old Elgin Mitchell appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Wednesday where he entered guilty pleas to charges of trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances.
 

Judge Kelly Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
 

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says on August 10th, Mitchell and a co-defendant in the case, 27-year-old Corey Wood fled from deputies in the Putnam area during a drug investigation.

Wood was sentenced last month to nine months in prison .
