Event Promotes Women in Business

It was a ladies day out in downtown Zanesville on Wednesday.

Bryan Place hosted the second annual Ladies Extravaganza featuring demonstrations and displays on fashion, jewelry, gardening and other topics.  Organizer Jodie Swingle said the event promotes women in business.

"We’re doing that by having them bring their businesses here, and they also brought their customers and friends," said Swingle.  "If we all bring our friends together, we can have one extravaganza of women in business, and then everybody can benefit from that."

About 15 vendors set up booths including Pamela’s Unique Boutique.  Owner Pam Young said it’s a great way to meet new customers and boost sales.

"It’s a good chance to get your name out there and meet a lot of the public that may not know we’re there on Maple Avenue," said Young.  "We did it last year and had a very good turnout, so we came this year, and it’s just a nice afternoon.  The food is wonderful, and you get to meet a lot of the locals."

Attendees also enjoyed a light meal and participated in a cash and carry raffle.
