Deputy Injured in Deer Collision
A Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured Monday night when his cruiser struck a deer.
According to Sheriff Matt Lutz, around 6:30 p.m. the deputy was traveling with his emergency sirens on to assist the Licking County Sheriff’s Office on a call. Sheriff Lutz says while driving on State Route 146 in Nashport the deputy struck a deer.
The impact caused the cruiser’s airbags to deploy, which caused burns to the deputy’s face. The Sheriff says the burns are believed to be minor.
