South Zanesville Holiday Parade

Traffic along Maysville Pike in South Zanesville was nearly shut-down Sunday afternoon, all to make way for The Zanesville South Holiday Parade, a tradition more than 20 years in the making.

"We look at this as the kick off to the season," said Zanesville South Business Association President Mollie Crooks. "We’re bringing Santa in to be at his house in South Zanesville, everyone knows now that it’s just around the corner,  we always have to do it the Sunday before Thanksgiving, because obviously we can’t shut down a major highway on Thanksgiving."

More than 90 units filled the street, everything from classic cars and motorcycles to dance groups and marching bands – but the parade wouldn’t be complete with out a glimpse of Good ‘Ole St. Nick.

"Once it gets on the road and it’s heading down, to see all the kids as they watch Santa that’s the cool thing," described Crooks.

WHIZ will air the parade on Thanksgiving Day at 4 o’clock and then again the following Saturday at 1:00.
