Thanksgiving Travel, Expect Delays

One of the busiest holiday travel times of the year is now underway.

The Thanksgiving Holiday week is the most traveled time of the year, and you can expect to see the Highway Patrol out in full force.

Sergeant Clark Felix said beginning Wednesday night they will have additional units working to control traffic, including units from the aviation department tracking speeds.

"We got extra patrol units out around the clock, 24 hours, high visibility and strict enforcing," said Felix.

Felix said travelers should expect delays lasting throughout the holiday period. He also reminds motorists- don’t’ drink and drive.

"A lot of office parties, parties in general, where people will be serving alcohol and people will be drinking," reminded Felix.

The increased patrol will last through Monday.
