Adopt a Family for Christmas

The Southeast Ohio 2-1-1 Call Center has identified a need for Christmas gifts to area families and children who have slipped through the cracks this holiday season.

Call Center Manager Audrey Foster says the call center values the good communication with the different local resources and agencies, so they will be working with them to be sure that they do not duplicate services for families in need. She says the center began their list after the other organizations stopped taking names.

"We have a list of folks who either missed a sign up at Salvation Army or maybe their children are 13 years and older, so they wouldn’t qualify for some of the lists. They just recently lost their job and so something just happened just within these last few weeks," said Foster.

Foster says this is a good opportunity to bring to life the Christmas spirit of giving to those in need.

"It’s important because we are meeting the needs in the community and as we all work together, as we say at United Way, working together we can get it all done," said Foster.

If you would like to adopt a family or a single child this Christmas, you can call the center at 2-1-1 or 454-2255.
