Zanesville Picks Up Tough Road Win
H.S. Boys Basketball:
Marietta 39 Rosecrans 52
It wasn’t the prettiest game but a win is a win and Rosecrans stayed perfect thanks in large part to even scoring from their starting line up. Four Bishops were in double figures lead by Zak Kirkbride who had 13 points but only one field goal on the night. Zach Hill recorded a double double by grabbing 14 rebounds and tossing in 10 points. Aaron Parry had 12 and Ian Durrant chipped in with 10 for the Bishops.
Maysville 55 Fairfield Union 66
In what could only be described as a track meet turned basketball game, Fairfield Union knocked down more shots and sank their free throws late to knock off Maysville 66-55. The Falcons took a 20-12 first quarter lead and never looked back, never letting the Panthers any closer than three the remainder of the game. Derek Clark and Jordan Barr combined for 36 points for Fairfield Union, including 13 points in the final frame from the foul line. Josh Stewart was also in double figures with 12 points in the win. The Panthers were led by Justin Wilson with 13 points. Seth Brown was the only other player in double figures with 10 in the loss. Maysville’s balanced attack had nine players score. Both teams return to action after Christmas break.
