George Sworn In As Fire Lieutenant

At Zanesville City Hall, Wednesday, Les George was promoted and sworn in as Fire Lieutenant for the Zanesville Fire Department.
George has been assigned to manage the Eppley Avenue Fire station.
He spoke to us after being sworn in.

"I feel good, I’m looking forward to the change, the opportunity to possibly make a change to the city of Zanesville. I couldn’t have done it without the support of Eric Waltermire, a good friend of mine from Columbus, and, just looking forward to it." said George.

George’s wife and family, along with other Zanesville Firefighters were on hand to witness today’s ceremony.
George was sworn in by Public Safety Director, Robert Brandford.
Brandford will be retiring January first. after forty years of public service.

"I think it feels good to retire. You don’t spend forty years and dedicate your life for forty years and walk away like it never happened. Of course, you know, You have your mixed feelings, and of course, what I’ll miss the most are the people. " said Brandford.

Brandford will be replaced by former Zanesville Firefighter, Fred Buck.
