Slow Traffic On I-70 After Accident
Traffic was backed up on I-70 westbound during rush-hour, after a semi-truck went off the road.
According to Lt. Andrew Jones of the National Trail Fire Department, the 55 year-old driver veered to the right of a guard rail and slammed into a row of trees lining the interstate around 5:30 near the Gratiot exit.
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in stable condition. Lt. Jones believed the accident might have been triggered by a medical episode.
The semi was not carrying a trailer. The crash remains under investigation.
