Football Fans in Full Force
It’s the last week of the regular season in the National Football League, and teams in both conferences were fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.
WHIZ caught up with football fans at Buffalo Wild Wings in Zanesville on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns have been eliminated, but the Pittsburgh Steelers were playing for a first-round bye, and the Cincinnati Bengals were trying to snatch a wild card spot. We found an interesting combination of jerseys that strayed away from the teams in our coverage area.
"The season has been great," said Green Bay Packers fan Charles Johnson. "Aaron Rodgers has been almost perfect with 45 touchdowns and 4,800 yards. It would’ve been nice for him to start this week, because he’s like 4 or 5 touchdowns away from Tom Brady’s record, but they have to keep all of their starters healthy, and playoffs are looking good."
"Well right now it’s 14-0 Buffalo, and we need to win," said New England Patriots fan Brian Cuffe. "We need to win so we can beat Pittsburgh and have home-field advantage over Pittsburgh and Baltimore."
"I’m hoping they clinch the wild card," said Cincinnati Bengals fan Justin Caplinger. "They’ve surprised me, because I thought they were only going to win about 5 games this season with mostly rookies, but they surprised me big time. I’m hoping they go."
We’ll have all the highlights of these games in the sports segment of WHIZ News at 11 PM on Sunday.
