James C. Smith (May 9, 1929 – January 30, 2012)

CROOKSVILLE
James C. Smith, 82 of Crooksville passed away January 30, 2012 at Cedar Hill Care Center. He was born in Morgan Co. OH a son of the late Walter and Rosie Kelly Smith. He was retired with 29 ½ years of service with Rockwell, had formerly worked at Wiseman Dairy, and was former owner of Fred L. Cannon Funeral Home in Crooksville. He was involved with the Crooksville Jaycees and enjoyed coaching little league baseball and basketball. He attended the Church of God in New Lexington.
He is survived by one son Ricky (Marsha) Smith and one daughter Marilyn (Bill) Clark all of Crooksville; one sister Opal Wilson of Newark, OH; 4 grandhcildren Amy Smith Hartley, Chad (Kristi) Smith, Leigh Ann (J.C.) Carr and Will Clark; 4 great grandchildren Sidney Smith, Mariah, Makayla and Marshall Carr.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jane Smith who passed away April 24, 2009; brothers Ralph, Raymond and Walter Smith; sister Ruby Smith Roe and grandchildren Scottie Lee Smith and Jayna Clark.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday February 3, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 207 BURLEY ST. CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 11am with his son-in-law Pastor Bill Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
