Lew and Norma Robinson. He was known to most of his friends and acquaintances as “Robbieâ€. He worked as a truck driver for Hennis Trucking for a period of 33 years. Consequently, he traveled extensively across the states during his lifetime.
Robbie particularly enjoyed driving through and across the mountains of West Virginia, where he would enjoy the Old Time Gospel songs. He was the son of a preacher and somewhere deep in his soul he was seemingly able to relate to the songs being sung. He was a Methodist by faith.
Robbie was a veteran of World War II. He was a Seaman first class of the United States Navy and served from September 24, 1943 until he was Honorably Discharged on March 26, 1946. During this time, he was awarded various medals and awards such as: Point System, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal.
Robbie loved playing golf and won many trophies competing. He possessed an infectious laugh and a genuine interest in his friends. These attributes caused him to have many friends, and he will no doubt be missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Robbie loved his family, parents and friends. He was fond of telling stories of his childhood. He spoke often about his brother and sister and the fun they had growing up together.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Patricia; four children, Rev. Carolyn (Rick) Hoskinson of Corning, John (Mary) Robinson of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon (Michael) Vaughan of Stratham, NH and Jeffrey (Laura) Robinson of Crooksville; the mother of his children, Ruth Caldwell of Crooksville; and three step-daughters, Laura McKnight of New Concord, Linda McKnight of Crooksville and Lois McKnight of Apache Junction, AZ.
