Accident involving Fire Truck in Perry Co.

A Hopewell Township Fire Truck was involved in an accident in Thornville on Monday afternoon.

Lancaster Highway Patrol Trooper RJ Wilson said shortly before 2 o’clock the fire department was responding to a truck fire when the accident happened.

Fire Fighter 21-year-old Marcus Moore of Glenford was heading west on County Road 29 –in emergency mode — when he attempted to pass a stopped vehicle causing him to hit an embankment.

Trooper Wilson said the cab of the truck was crushed causing both the driver and the passenger to be trapped. They were taken to Fairfield Medical Center with minors injuries.
