Prison Inmate Pleads Guilty To Sex Charges

A Zanesville man – already in prison – Wednesday admits he’s guilty of the sex charges against him. 43-year-old David Gibbs Jr. pled guilty to attempted sexual battery, rape and two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition. Assistant Muskingum County Prosecutor Ron Welch says the charges were in connection to four victims between the ages of four and 16 years old and happened between 1994 and 2002. Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation in the case. Gibbs will also be classified as a Tier III sex offender and must register every 90 days for life and notify all residents within 1000 feet of his home, when he is released.  Gibbs is already in prison serving time for shooting his step sister in the head in April of 2011.
