Kleins To Be Tried Together In Child Deaths
Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says he is pleased with the a Judge’s ruling that a Muskingum County couple be tried together in the death of children. Today Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle ruled that 38-year-old Richard Klein Jr. and 25-year-old Kasey Klein will be tried together in connection with the deaths of Kasey’s children 3-year-old Ayden Cecil and 2-year-old Anthony Tullius. In June of 2011 the couple was camping near Ellis Dam with the children when they turned up missing. Cecil’s body was recovered from the river the same day, but Tullius’ body has never been found. They have been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child endangering. Prosecutor Haddox says he does not think either of the defendants will be prejudiced by being tried together and it will save the county money with only one trial. If convicted each faces 20 years in prison.
