Martha L. Barker (October 5, 1939 – October 9, 2014)

Martha L. Barker, 75, of Avondale, died at 11:20 A.M. on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at her home. She was born October 5, 1939, in Mt. Ephraim, OH, a daughter of the late Sumner and Hazel Wickham Moore. She worked for 18 years as a cook for the Maysville Local School District, and was a member of First Church of Nazarene. She enjoyed her family, neighbors, friends, and her life.

Surviving are a daughter Susan (Randy) Miller of Frazeysburg; two sons, Terry E. (Tammy) Barker of Zanesville, and Scott A. Barker of Avondale; six grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Toni Tullius, John Tullius, Talya (Cory) Insley, Tara (Shaun) Semran, and Kyle Barker; five great grandchildren, Rylee and Ryan Birkhimer, Katelyn and Kameron Insley, and Karsyn Semran; two brothers, Darrell (Tammy) Moore of Avondale, and Jimmy (Star) Moore of Everetts, KY; a special sister-in-law Alice Nessline; and special friends Carl and Linda Cornett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Eugene Barker, who died March 31, 2014; a sister Carol Hall; and her step father Russell Moore.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 13, 2014, with Pastor Steve Dupler and Pastor Mark Dupler officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Carl at William’s Cemetery, Zanesville.
