Richard “Dick” Shafer (July 1, 1945 – December 7, 2014)

Richard “Dick” J. Shafer, 69, of Zanesville, died at 9:17 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home. He was born July 1, 1945, to Willis A. and Vivian J. Anders Shafer.

Surviving are his loving wife Barbara Shafer; children John, Thomas, and Richard Kessler, and Vicki Mokhtar; two brothers, his twin Dan (Kristy) Shafer and James (Ramona) Shafer; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Mitchell, Mary Sue (William) McCormick, and Davene Brown; and a special friend Bill McCormick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son Scott Shafer; a sister Joyce Rivera; and a niece Robin Mohler.

A dignified cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
