Otis W. “Bill” Crawford (December 6, 1917 – August 15, 2015)

Otis W. “Bill” Crawford, 97 of Zanesville, died 5:20am Saturday August 15 at the Primrose Assisted Living Facility.
Bill was born December 6, 1917 in Belmont Ridge, Ohio the son of Otis S. & Ora M (Brock) Crawford.
He graduated from Halloway High School and attended Elliah Business College in Wheeling W.Va. He was a WWII Army Veteran with the Medical Corps from 1941 to 1946 where he was promoted from Private to Captain.
He married Margie N. McRorie in 1943. After working at Ohio Power and Pittsburg Plate Glass he bought Modern Glass and Paint, Inc. in Zanesville in 1951 attaining full ownership and worked there until he retired in 1984.
Bill was a member of Jaycees, Rotary Club, Alfred Carr Center Board, SCOBE, Cancer Society Golf Tournament. He served on the board of Grace United Methodist Church where he was an assistant to the head ushers for many years and was also a member of the Zanesville Country Club.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews including Karen Garrett of Zanesville and Gary (Virginia) Buck of Ft. Myers, Fl. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents and his wife by three sisters and two brothers.
No public visitation will be observed and a graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday August 18 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Mark Chow officiating.
Memorial contributions can be to the American Cancer Society or to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society.
